COVID-19

After this period of confinement, the Gallo-Roman Museum and the Giants’ House will reopen to the public from Tuesday, May 19. This is an opportunity to get some fresh air, to (re) discover our heritage and these two outstanding places.

The museums will be open Tuesday to Friday from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. and weekends and public holidays from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Visits will only be made by reservation, by phone (Tuesday to Friday, 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.) or by email:

To this end, time gauges with quotas have been put in place to split up visitors over the afternoon. Each family has a reserved time slot so that they can visit museums independently. A visit will last 1 hour, with a maximum of 6 people per family. Visitors are requested to respect the schedule agreed upon when booking.

In order to ensure safety and protect visitors and museum staff, the museums of Ath have adopted a series of distancing, hygiene and disinfection measures.

In addition, here are the specific measures for visitors:

  • Payments are only made electronically (bancontact terminals, with contactless payment available);
  • Wearing a mask is compulsory. We invite you to take your personal masks. If not, a mask will be provided to you at the museum entrance;
  • A visitor's plan (Gallo-Roman Museum - Giant's House) will be available to guide you through the museum;
  • The elevator is only accessible to people with reduced mobility;
  • The shop is open as well. If you wish to purchase something, we ask you to do so when you enter the museum;
  • The cloakrooms are not accessible;

We remind you that the social distance of 1.5 meters from other visitors is essential during your visit. The measures to be followed, decreed by the federal government, of course remain applicable:

  • Stay at home, especially if you are sick and contact your doctor;
  • Wash your hands with soap and water regularly;
  • Keep a distance of at least 1.5 meters from people who are not your family;
  • Limit your physical social contacts;
  • Wear a mask in public transport and frequented public places;
  • Use a new tissue every time and throw it in a closed trash can. If you don't have one available, sneeze on the inside of your elbow.

Staff at Ath's museums hope to see you soon so that you can discover the richness of their collections.

The Stone Museum (in Maffle) and the National Ball Games Museum will be open from July 1 (depending on the evolution of deconfinement measures).
